Personal description: I was born into a family where my father was a doctor and my mother was a teacher. So I have been very interested in medicine and education since I was young.
From my work experience, it can be seen that most of the time I have been engaged in consulting and financing related work, and these consulting services are also based on my understanding of medical and educational business.
The number of team members managed has increased from the initial 7 to a channel team of nearly 70 currently. Because I studied in the United States during my high school years, I have a deep understanding of the culture and identity of North America. My wife and I have Hong Kong permanent residency and have obtained an open work visa which is W-1 visa from Canada. We plan to fly to Canada in the early of July this year to start our new life. During my graduate studies in the UK, I organized and participated in numerous activities organized by clubs and Chinese organizations. Basically, I was responsible for coordinating the Essex Chinese Student Union with the Chinese Consulate in the UK, as well as the New Year celebration activities. I am very familiar with the details of organizing activities and processes for around 300 people. Especially adept at coordinating the different demands of overseas Chinese from different countries and regions.
During my work in China, I initially focused on helping investors find the most suitable junior projects, and later worked hard to achieve better inheritance of how to protect client capital. So education consulting and overseas asset planning have become my goals for clients to achieve asset preservation and reasonable planning for the next generation's vision and academic development. My wife's customer base highly overlaps with mine. In my wife's ten years of work experience in Hong Kong insurance, we are familiar with the customer demands for purchasing US dollar savings insurance products. We often have in-depth discussions and communication with clients, explore their demands, and develop the most practical and cost-effective investment and financing plans to better support their children's overseas education. So we are very familiar with the compliance of assets and the importance of maintaining customer reputation and privacy.
At present, we have a customer base of approximately 1700 who have purchased US dollar savings insurance in Hong Kong, and have paid a total of approximately HKD 600 million, or approximately CAD 120 million, in Hong Kong insurance savings fees. This was jointly created by my wife's nearly ten years of professional experience and a channel team of around 50 people.
During my tenure as CEO, I have jointly built my wife's 50 member channel team and my approximately 20 member education channel team into a channel network that maintains our customers. When I served as CEO of two companies in Shenzhen and Hong Kong, my business was almost the same, except that one was for Chinese Mainland business, and the other was better for overseas business. Although I have not directly engaged in fundraising related work, I am familiar with the investment logic and communication methods of high net worth families. If UBC is interested in raising funds in Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland, I don't think it is particularly difficult to raise $1 million a year or the team's goal of raising $15-30 million. In recent years, because Hong Kong has opened talent visas to wealthy families in Chinese Mainland, about 70000 mainlanders have been approved to obtain Hong Kong identity. We have helped a large number of families in these groups to plan their kids curriculum and family assets,I think insurance customers and new immigrant customers will be a good group for us to directly carry out our work.
I hope to achieve my better life goals at UBC. I think it is crucial to use appropriate language and develop different fundraising strategies for different families when communicating with fundraisers. The timing of decision-making for high net worth clients is crucial and they place great emphasis on details. I believe it is crucial to ensure the reputation of the university, the legitimacy of donated funds, and the expression of scientific research results in terms that donors can understand while raising funds.
I carefully read UBC University's strategic plan for 2018-2028. I believe that during this period, I can contribute my own strength to UBC and better work with the alumni and fundraising groups to become a part of the school's long-term development support.
As CEO for more than 4 years . My wife and I decide to establish a new company in Hong Kong to facilitate our service.
Due to the fact we helped over 300 family obtain the work visa in Hong Kong and they do require school consulting service for their kid.
We established a 70 members of a sales group to maintain our insurance clients( from my wife side) and our original clients.
We help our clients' children build study plans and support projects from elementary school to undergraduate studies, such as scientific research, competitions, professional direction selection, and employment planning.
Over these two years, I lead the evaluation of over 100 investment opportunities for venture capital clients. Through rigorous due diligence and market analysis,17 projects met our investment criteria, culminating in the successful facilitation of RMB 32 million in total financing.
