Under this role of commodity manager, I started to manage different commodities of Aluminum Alloy, Plastic Resin/components, Steel, Stamping, Rubber components, Die-casting &Machining, Chemical , Media material, Fasteners etc with a team of 5 buyers for 5 plants in China covering around 280 regular suppliers. In 2024, was appointed in addition on my China Purchasing Manger role as Global Commodity Manger for all Aluminum material products to cover over 11,000tons of Aluminum raw material plus 6mil Euro Aluminum pipes and connectors supporting EMEA, APAC & Americas.
In this role, I am fully responsible for all the categories of Indirect Material, including equipment/tooling/fixtures (Capex), MRO, consumables, EHS, R&D testing, facility management, HR& Admin services, Corporate Service, IT, as well as packaging material, warehouse & transportation. With the direct report to Asia Pacific Purchasing & Supply Chain Director, the annual volume of purchasing amount managed under my role is around 40m Euro and maintained average 5-7.7% annual savings of Capex spend while 2-3% of Opex spend.
In 2018, I completed the entire APAC HQ office renovation project (2000sqm) within 2 months and within budget by myself and was awarded the Special APAC COO Reward. In 2019 May, I have done the Chongqing new factory office renovation project (2600sqm) as the project leader and was involved as the key organizer for the Chongqing Opening Event on 6th June 2019. Beside the regular secretarial assisting to CEO on the normal routine work, for the role of Office Manager, i also supervised the local administration team (8 admin persons) that supports office management activities: e.g. focused on developing and implementing office policies, fostering a productive work environment for all staff. Oversaw budget management, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines and resource allocation. Manage office cost from planning/budgeting to control on spending including vendor invoice approvals, employee expense reimbursement approvals, regularly review and presentation of financial reports to other BU managers as well as coordination of office events and meetings, ensuring timely execution and optimal scheduling for all participants.
